SAR CONGRESS 2020 The Virginia Society invites you to Orange County for the 2020 National Congress July 10-16. Come meet our National Society and members from across the nation. SAR PUBLIC SERVICE We are proud to recognize those who served in the U.S. Armed Forces or in alliance with the United States, and the exceptional acts of citizens, public servants and the law for their contributions. OUR CHAPTERS We decorate the graves of patriots of servicemen, participate in public observances, support research and preservation of historic materials on those who fought for independence. SAR YOUTH CONTESTS The society offers contests with cash awards to public-school students, Eagle Scouts, J/ROTC cadets, and teachers of American history to encourage them to think about the principles of our nation. SAR EAGLE SCOUT A free commemorative certificate is available to scoutmasters and parents to recognize the outstanding accomplishments of new Eagle Scouts. A scholarship program is at hand to all Eagles. William H. Carlson, Jr. 17 Dec 1945 - 7 Jun 2020 It is with great regret and sadness that we report the passing of our State Secretary. At his family's request, the society has established a fund in his memory. Contributions to the fund may be made here .
